Soap calc PRO App Reviews

Ive been making soap for a couple of years now and use this calculator a lot. I really like it! I think it needs some tweaks, though. First, it needs to separate my recipe from the auto balanced one by using different colors, or better yet by putting the auto balanced recipe on a separate page. I was in a hurry this morning and mistakenly used the auto balanced lye amount instead of the recipe amount (I havent made soap in a while). I might not have made that error if the auto balanced recipe was separated from the actual recipe. Second, the auto balanced recipe should try to calculate using the same total amount of oils as is in the entered recipe. Auto balance is always low, so I have to adjust it up. It is an unnecessary PITA to try to adjust the recipe.

Nice calc, useful. The Auto balance is unique feature.

Love this app for calculating my soap recipes but this morning just stopped working on all my devices (ipad and iphone). Please fix

Soapcalc Pro worked beautifully until March 25th 2013 update. Now it just freezes on opening screen every time. This needs to be fixed immediately. Will update this review when the problem has been addressed.

Use this app all the time!! All my favorite recipes are on here. It has stopped working!!!!!! Help!!

Ive been using this app for about a month and its been great - until today. Now it doesnt even open. Ive tried deleting and reinstalling but nothing seems to help. Whats wrong and when will you have it fixed?

This app worked like a charm for well over a year but all at once the app will not open for iPad or iPhone. All are stuck in the start up page. There are no updates for this app not does there appear to be a way to contact the developer to report bugs. Other users have similarly reported this problem in the reviews but there seems to be no way to resolve the problem. Update: Was able to use again by turning wifi OFF, then go to the app. It should work again then go back and turn the wifi on again. Cant explain why this works but it saved me. I didnt lose any recipes and have been able to create and save new ones!

Need to be compatible with the latest version of IOS. Now its not even possible to open it! PLEASE FIX IT!

If you make soap you will love this. Enter your fats in grams or ounces. Tap on a fat for all soap properties (great information). Calculates water and lye plus several qualities your recipe will have such as bubbles, hardness, creaminess, cleansing, etc. Looking at results allows you to modify your recipe Name and save your favorites. Adjust for superfats. More. Well done.

This app is great for creating new soap recipes. I wish the Water as Percent of Oil would go a little lower than 20% because I usually use 16.5%. I think it is money well spent.

Overall, this calc is fine and I love that I can calculate recipes on the go. From a user interface, I dont like to scroll down so much for all the oils and the Auto Balance feature did not work properly. I like the concept but it didnt give correct ounces (suggested 810 oz of coconut oil and 5 oz of lye) for individual oils. I will be happy to re-adjust my review once that glitch is fixed.

Great that I no longer have to calculate CP soap recipes on my computer! I really like being able to save and email my recipes. The ability to calculate by percentage of oils would allow me to give this app a 5-star rating.

All in all using this as little as I have I found it to be very useful with being able to tell me what my soap will be when I formulate it. That goes to say my hardness my bubbles my lather ext. The thing that I dont like having to restart the app to formulate a new recipe and not being able to have a print function.

I like being able to formulate recipes on my phone. But I am not able to access a list of saved recipes. I dont think its user error -- there simply isnt a way to get out of the recipe I saved. I can alter it to come up with new recipes and email them.

Please add the ability to calculate quantities by percentage of oils! Please!

This app is GREAT except that its missing two key features... its ability to let you "play" with a recipe by using percentages of oils rather than exact amounts, like you can do on other soap calc sites…and also an ability to save more than one recipe. Those were the main reasons I purchased this app in the first place, so kind of a disappointment. PLEASE add those features and Ill give you 5 stars!!!
